Account Setup

Learn how to create your RateTell account and connect your e-commerce store.

Creating Your Account

1. Visit Ratetell
2. Click "Sign Up" or "Start Free Trial"
3. Choose your signup method:
   • Email and password
   • Google OAuth
4. Verify your email address (check inbox/spam)
5. Complete your profile

Account Information

You'll need to provide:

• Full Name: Your name or business name
• Email: Primary contact email
• Store URL: Your e-commerce store domain

Connecting Your Store

Store Integration

RateTell uses OAuth for secure store connection:

1. Click "Connect Store" in the dashboard
2. Enter your store domain
3. Click "Connect"
4. You'll be redirected to authorize
5. Review the requested permissions:
   • Read shipping zones and rates
   • Modify shipping rates (to add RateTell)
   • Read products and collections
   • Read customer information
6. Click "Install App"
7. You'll be redirected back to RateTell

What Gets Created?

During connection, RateTell automatically:

1. Carrier Service: A new shipping service in your store admin
2. Webhooks: For real-time synchronization
3. Data Import: Products, collections, tags, and customer segments

Verifying Connection

Check that your store is connected:

1. Go to Settings → Stores
2. Your store should show "Connected" status
3. View connection details:
   • Store name and URL
   • Connection date
   • Last sync time
   • Active rules count

Billing Information

RateTell uses a subscription-based model:

Trial Period

• Duration: 14 days
• Full Access: All features included
• No Credit Card: Required to start
• Cancel Anytime: No commitments

After Trial

You'll be prompted to select a plan. Billing details will be updated here once pricing tiers are finalized.

Security Settings

Two-Factor Authentication (Recommended): Enable in Settings → Security for added protection.

API Keys: Available in Settings → API Keys for programmatic access (advanced users).

Multiple Stores

Connect multiple stores to one account (Settings → Stores → Add New Store). Each store has independent rules, carrier accounts, and analytics.

Your account is ready! Now:

1. Create your first shipping rule
2. Configure carrier accounts (if using live rates)
3. Explore condition types

Troubleshooting

Store Connection Failed: Verify store domain is correct, try incognito/private browser, or check for popup-blocking extensions.

Email Verification Not Received: Check spam folder, wait 5 minutes, or request a new verification email.
