Quick Start Guide

This guide will walk you through creating your first shipping rule in RateTell. You'll be up and running in less than 5 minutes!

Step 1: Connect Your Store

1. Sign up for a RateTell account at app.ratetell.com
2. Click "Connect Store" or "Add New Store"
3. Select your e-commerce platform
4. Follow the OAuth flow to authorize RateTell

What Happens During Connection?

RateTell creates a secure OAuth connection, registers a carrier service, sets up webhooks, and imports your product catalog.

Step 2: Create Your First Rule

1. Navigate to Rules in the sidebar
2. Click "Create New Rule" button
3. Enter rule details:
   • Name: "Free Shipping Over $50"
   • Description: "Offer free shipping on orders over $50"
   • Status: Toggle to Enabled

Step 3: Add Conditions

Conditions determine when your shipping rate applies. Let's create a simple cart value condition:

1. Find "Cart Total" in the condition library (left panel)
2. Drag and drop it onto the canvas (center area)
3. Configure the condition:
   • Operator: "Greater than or equal to"
   • Value: 50.00

Add multiple conditions to create complex rules: Collection (target products), Customer Tag (VIP rates), Location (rates by region), Product Weight (weight-based rates).

Step 4: Configure Your Shipping Rate

Set up what rate customers will see:

1. Shipping Rate Name: "Free Shipping"
2. Price: 0.00
3. Type: Fixed Rate

Rate Types: Fixed Rate ($5 flat), Free Shipping ($0), Percentage (% discount), Carrier Calculated (live rates), Rate Shopping (cheapest option).

Step 5: Test Your Rule

Before publishing, test your rule with the simulator:

1. Click "Test Rule" in the preview panel (right side)
2. Enter test cart details:
   • Cart total: $60.00
   • Destination: USA
   • Products: Any product
3. Click "Simulate"
4. Verify "Free Shipping - $0.00" appears in results

Step 6: Publish Your Rule

1. Review the rule summary in the preview panel
2. Click "Create Rule" (top right)
3. Your rule is now live!

Once published, your rule is active immediately and customers see the rate at checkout.
