Carrier Credentials
To display live shipping rates from carriers like UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, and Canada Post, you need to obtain API credentials from each carrier.
Why You Need Credentials
API credentials allow RateTell to:
- Fetch real-time shipping rates
- Calculate accurate delivery times
- Display available service levels
- Provide rate shopping across carriers
Available Carriers
Select a carrier below to learn how to get credentials:
UPS
Get Client ID, Client Secret, and Account Number from UPS Developer Portal.
FedEx
Get Client ID, Client Secret, and Account Number from FedEx Developer Center.
USPS
Get Consumer Key and Consumer Secret from USPS Developer Portal.
DHL Express
Get API Key, API Secret, and Account Number from DHL Developer Portal.
Canada Post
Get Customer Number, Username, and Password from Canada Post Developer Program.
Setup & Security
General Process: Create developer account with carrier → Request API access → Receive credentials → Add to RateTell (navigate to Carriers, click Connect on the carrier) → Test connection.
Security: Your credentials are stored using industry-standard encryption and transmitted securely. You can test your connection before going live to make sure everything works.
Testing Connections
After entering credentials:
- Click "Test Connection" button
- RateTell checks your connection to the carrier
- See success message or error details
- Fix any issues before saving
