DHL Express Credentials

Get API credentials from DHL Express to display live DHL shipping rates in your checkout.

What You Need

• Active DHL Express shipping account
• DHL account number
• Access to DHL Developer Portal

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Access Developer Portal

1. Visit DHL Developer Portal
2. Click "Sign Up" (or "Log In")
3. Select "DHL Express" as your service
4. Complete registration

2. Create Application

1. Click "My Apps" in dashboard
2. Click "Create New App"
3. Enter app details:
   • App Name: "RateTell Integration"
   • Description: "E-commerce shipping rates"
4. Select APIs:
   • ✅ Rating API (required)
   • ✅ Address Validation (optional)
5. Click "Create"

3. Get Your Credentials

After approval, you'll receive:

• API Key
• API Secret

You'll also need:

• Account Number (your DHL Express account)
• Site ID (if applicable)

Where to Find Account Number:

• DHL Express invoices
• Account dashboard
• Contact DHL customer service: 1-800-225-5345

4. Add to RateTell

1. Log into RateTell dashboard
2. Go to Settings → Carriers
3. Click "Add Carrier"
4. Select "DHL Express"
5. Enter credentials:
   • API Key: From developer portal
   • API Secret: From developer portal
   • Account Number: Your DHL account
   • Site ID: If you have multiple sites
6. Enter Origin Address:
   • Complete warehouse/shipping address
   • Must include valid postal code
7. Click "Test Connection"
8. If successful, click "Save"

Testing Your Setup

Test Environment

DHL provides sandbox for testing:

1. Enable "Test Mode" in RateTell
2. Use test API credentials
3. Returns simulated rates
4. No impact on production

Verify Connection

Click "Test Connection" to:

• Validate API Key and Secret
• Check account status
• Confirm origin address
• Get sample rates

Troubleshooting

Invalid API Key: Copy credentials exactly (case-sensitive). Regenerate keys in developer portal if needed.

Account Not Authorized: Contact DHL account manager to enable API access on your account.

API Key Expired: Keys expire after 90 days of inactivity. Generate new keys in developer portal.
