1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using RateTell's services, you accept and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

RateTell provides a landed cost estimation platform for Shopify merchants. Our service includes:

  • AI-assisted HS code classification for your products
  • Estimated duty and tax calculations for international shipments
  • Live carrier rate integration with UPS, FedEx, and DHL
  • Smart packing optimization

RateTell is a software tool, not a customs broker, tax advisor, or legal service. All duty and tax figures are estimates.

3. Account Registration

To use RateTell, you must:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. Subscription and Billing

RateTell operates on a subscription basis:

  • 14-day free trial available for new accounts
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
  • No refunds for partial months of service
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time
  • Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice

5. HS Code Classifications

The Platform provides AI-assisted HS code classification suggestions as a convenience. All classifications must be reviewed and explicitly approved by the merchant before use. By approving a classification, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Classification suggestions are generated by artificial intelligence and may be incorrect
  • You bear sole responsibility for verifying the accuracy of any HS code before approving it
  • RateTell does not represent or warrant that any HS code suggestion, whether approved or not, is correct under applicable customs regulations
  • You should consult a qualified customs broker or trade professional for verification of critical classifications

6. Duty and Tax Estimates

All duties, taxes, tariffs, and other impositions displayed by the Platform are ESTIMATES ONLY. Final amounts are determined by customs authorities at the time of import and may differ from the estimated amounts due to factors including but not limited to:

  • Accuracy of HS code classifications
  • Actual packed dimensions and weight
  • Declared product value
  • Country of origin determination
  • Trade agreements in effect
  • Customs officer discretion

RateTell provides no warranty that estimates will match final customs assessments. You acknowledge and agree that RateTell shall have no liability for any discrepancies between estimated and actual duties, taxes, or other charges assessed by customs authorities.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Use the service to transmit malicious code
  • Resell or redistribute our services without permission

8. Service Availability

While we strive for 99.9% uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to our services. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

RateTell's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. RateTell shall not be liable for any customs penalties, shipment delays, seizures, detention, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of RateTell are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which RateTell operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
